So Manchester United came on track after thrashing Turkish side Fenerbahce by an impressive scoreline of four goals to one, or should we say; 5-0.
The most expensive player in the sport, Paul Pogba, broke the deadlock by scoring from the spot and just three minutes later, the hosts were awarded another penalty. As the game was approaching towards the half time, Paul Pogba made it three for the Devils and Jesse Lingard’s wonderful strike from outside the box, in the second half, made the scoreline comfortable than ever.
Besides all of it, there was another thing that both the sections enjoyed and that was the goal from Robin van Persie. The 33-year-old Dutchman was given a memorable reception by the Old Trafford crowd on the night and his goal gave him a standing ovation from the crowd, such a rare sight to see in the modern game.
Van Persie, who celebrated after scoring against Arsenal in the 2013-2014 season, decided not to celebrate against the Devils and this made him the man of the night. Even the former manager, Alex Ferguson, gave him the applause and the game was summed up. Well, it was a much-needed victory for the Devils as they have a big game coming up in the weekend.
