United have so far signed four new players in the squad, further, they have been linked with a host of players this summer. Here are some latest transfer news from the Old Trafford.
United have been looking to sign Monaco defender Fabinho, however, the Reds are set to miss out on the player after the latter decided to stay at his current club after Monaco qualified for champions league. Chelsea were also said to be interested in Fabinho but a deal is unlikely with the French club demanding around £30m for the full-back.
Bastian Schweinsteiger’s future at the Old Trafford had been under speculation through the summer, however, the German player is now set to stay at the Old Trafford as he is determined to fight for his place in the squad. He has further stated that he does not have any problems with United boss Jose Mourinho and understood the Portuguese manager’s point of view.
The 32-year-old told The Sun:
“My absolute dream would be to continue playing for Man Utd. I have no personal problems with Jose Mourinho.
“We had a good exchange, he explained his standpoint to me. I know what Manchester United want. But I also know what I want.
“You will have to wait and see what happens in September, October. It’s respectful between both parties.
“I will certainly not stop playing football. I still believe in my own ability. I could still help Man Utd if given the chance.”
