We do know it has been a while since Manchester United are chasing their former midfielder Paul Pogba’s signature. While the club has been non-committal over the deal so far reports suggest that United are close to sealing the deal for the player’s move back to the Old Trafford.
United are edging closer to finalising a move with some reports suggesting a deal is already over the line.
But the Portuguese boss didn’t give much away when asked about Pogba’s impending arrival.
He said: “I don’t want to speak about Paul, because he’s a Juventus player.
“I don’t like to talk about other clubs players and I don’t like it when they talk about my players.
“We are going to get our last target and hopefully before the first game of the season.”
Further reports suggest that United are keeping close tabs on Everton defender John Stones. The player has been linked with a move to the Etihad for some time now, however, slight hitch on the deal for City is that the Toffees are standing strong on their demand of £50m for the player’s move out of the club. The Portuguese manager is reportedly on the market for another defender and Stones is expected to be one of the players in his list of candidates for the same.
And according to ESPN, Jose Mourinho is turning his attentions to signing a central defensive leader in the style of Nemanja Vidic.
United youngster Adnan Januzaj is set to leave the Old Trafford this summer and is reportedly available in £10m for a transfer move out of the Red Devils. Reports suggest that United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will be sanctioning only a permanent move after Januzaj returned from a failed loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
Black Cats boss David Moyes has admitted he is interested in bringing the 21-year-old, and his United team-mate Marouane Fellaini, to the Stadium of Light.
“If any of those good players want to join me I’d be happy to have them,” Moyes said.
”They’re excellent players. We’re interested but I’m sure there’s a load of other clubs that are as well.”
