United had a dull season under Louis Van Gaal last season, having struggled with their forms and the manager’s direction, LVG has left the Old Trafford for good and has been replaced by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. Mourinho is preparing his squad for the next season and there are still more changes for the Red Devils to undergo.
United have been linked with Juventus player Paul Pogba for some time now, however, there has been no progress in the same. The Red Devils have been pursuing the player however they have stuck at a point and have not been able to move forward into the deal.
And recently, Juventus’ boss Massimiliano Allegri has suggested that Paul Pogba would be taking a step back if he decides to leave Juventus to return to Manchester United.
“I am calm about the English rumours,” Allegri told Gazzetta dello Sport. “Anyone who has the opportunity to leave Juventus has to consider things very carefully, because right now Juve are among the top four European clubs.
“This is not a selling club that just lets its players go. Pogba belongs to Juve and at the end of the day he too will want to win another Scudetto and hopefully the Champions League.
“We have grown in terms of appeal and awareness of our own capabilities. So far our market this summer has been eight out of 10, bringing in players of international pedigree like Medhi Benatia, Dani Alves and Miralem Pjanic.”
Further reports suggest that United are looking to sign Joe Allen from Liverpool as Mourinho looks to bolster his squad. The Welshman’s future at the Anfield is uncertain as he has only one year left on his contract and even Klopp has allowed the player to move from the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be open to selling him if the right offer comes in with the German boss keen to find a solution to Allen’s future.
He said last week: “We will find a solution, but it’s not done.
“Obviously Joe Allen is a good player. We never doubted this. He played a good European Championship, like the whole Welsh team.
“We have to make decisions, we have to find solutions. We have to talk to the player, ask the player and think about our situation. That’s how it works.”
Allen, who was named in Uefa’s official team of the tournament at Euro 2016, is also attracting interest from Swansea.
United are also linked with Reece Oxford from West Ham and are likely to give tough competition to rivals Manchester City for the player’s signature.
West Ham are keen to keep hold of him however, and have already rejected a £10m offer from German outfit Red Bull Leipzig. Oxford has two years remaining on his current contract but interest from top clubs has prompted the Hammers to try and tie him down to a longer deal.
The Mirror claims West Ham will hold talks with him over his future when he returns from international duty.
