According to Express Sport, Manchester United has turned their attention to Andre Gomes after the Red Devils have missed out on Renato Sanches to Bayern Munich. Earlier there were reports from TuttoMercatoWeb that the Italian powerhouse Juventus were also in the pursuit of the midfielder and had already agreed a deal with his club, Valencia.
But recent reports suggest that Valencia would rather sell Gomes to Manchester United than Juventus. There are several reasons for it. Firstly the owner of Valencia is also the owner of Salford City near Manchester. Secondly the club had hired Gary Neville as their manager before sacking him this season and would like to build a good relationship after that fiasco. Finally, Jorge Mendes is the agent for Gomes and has strong relationships with Manchester United.
Gomes is not going to be cheap though as Valencia has put a price tag of a hefty £51.5 million.
