Another target for Manchester United emerged a week ago and who is already on a lookout by other clubs as well including Juventus. Andre Gomes is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Spanish club Valencia CF as a central midfielder. The 37 times capped Portuguese player has played three years at Benfica, where he won the domestic treble in the 2013–14 season. In July 2014, he joined Valencia.
Spanish website Todomercadoweb reported exclusively that the La Liga side Valencia’s first choice is to sell him to the Red Devils. With Manchester United’s finances being superior to Juventus’, it makes logic Valencia would attempt to try and get topmost money for the 22-year-old, who could possibly be a long term replacement for Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweisteiger. The midfielder is apparently valued at £40 million by his club.
A sudden interest in Andre Gomes just reflects how badly Manchester United is in need to sign players and how ineffective they’ve been regarding other players whom they’ve shown interest in. Well, thanks to the poor form, we are on our way to become the next Liverpool.

Looking at the stats and the experience Andre Gomes has, he isn’t bad for a player of his age. The Portuguese international has shown some promising performances this season and certainly has enough time to improve his game further.
Andre Gomes is being represented by Jorge Mendes, who is also the agent of the potential Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho. We might have to wait for the transfer to happen until Mourinho becomes the man in charge at Old Trafford.
In my opinion, buying Gomes is a waste of money. Especially for that much amount. United’s scouts can surely find players much better and much cheaper than the Portuguese footballer.
