Why A Season Without Champions League Will Be A Crisis For Manchester United

published :

Manchester United have failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League again. Towards the end of the season and sudden successive wins, gave hope for the top-four spot, but very much expected from this season’s performance, Red Devils failed to do so.

A season without the Champions League for a club of this stature is without a doubt, a huge blow. They will obviously be playing in the Europa League but we all know it’s not the same. Clubs like Liverpool can settle with that every year, but Manchester United just can’t.

Without Champions League, United will be facing a lot of disadvantages, especially when approaching players of high standards. Because why would Zlatan come to United if they won’t be even playing in the Champions League? The guy’s already fighting to win one.  I mean, it’s just an example of what would the Red Devils be facing when signing top-class players.

But no UCL can mean that Manchester United can now have their priority set to winning their 21st Premier League title. Louis Van Gaal or whoever the manager will be can have an easier time not being focused for the Champions League and use their brain in the domestic league only.

United will obviously be degraded in the respect they have had over the decades. With another failed season, Manchester United are starting to lose their charismatic effect and are slowly moving towards the level of an above-average team. There was a time when teams used to fear facing United in any tournament and that wasn’t too long ago. It’s funny how so much has changed and is bound to be changed within a quick span of time.

The minimum goal for a club at such a historic level should be to qualify for the Champions League always. Practically, it is better than winning a domestic league cup. That’s how it used to be during Sir Alex’s time.

It’s shameful how the ambitions and performances since a few years have gone down so drastically.

Hopefully, the team will make out as much as they can from the next season and call it a successful one.
