Manchester United has been given a lifeline in the second last game of the season. The draw between Arsenal and Manchester City at Etihad on Sunday means that now if Manchester wins both the remaining games then they will be handed a Champions League spot next season. Additionally, they are also the favorites to win the FA Cup.
These two achievements, however will not guarantee that a new manager will not arrive at Old Trafford in the summer. Reports have arrived that the talks between the club and Jose Mourinho has progressed and Manchester United has a provisional deal in place with the Portuguese which will be finalized in the summer.
There are reports that the club hierarchy is split about the opinion on Mourinho and some are still backing Louis Van Gaal to complete his term at Old Trafford. However, there are not many managers who can be better than Mourinho and Manchester United should not waste time and sign him already.
