One department where Manchester United will look to improve for sure in the summer is at the center half. While Chris Smalling has developed into a fine young defender, the search for a suitable partner for him has been ongoing.
Now, according to the Sunday Express, that may be John Stones. The young player at Everton has been one of the brightest young defenders in the recent years and as per the report Manchester United are clear to sign the player in the summer as the main competition Chelsea has pulled out of the race. The London based club bid £37 million for the England defender, but was not able to complete the signing. However, if United wants they may be able to lure him to Old Trafford for £40 million. Are they willing to pay this amount for Stones?
Well, so far several defensive options have been speculated for Manchester United but looks like nothing is set in stones. No pun intended!
