A rather poor display from Manchester United has left the club and the fans frustrated. It has been a difficult season again and no noticeable improvements in the team as a whole have been viewed. The biggest club on the planet is now nothing more than a joke in the European competitions. Struggling to beat the usual-mid-table-teams, United has left their fans with a big question mark regarding the club’s future. Is this going to continue for a while or are we going to get back to our winning ways next season?
Hoping to win the Premier League title next season can be silly, given the current performance but it sure will be a huge step forward and possible if the club starts taking risks in their decision-making process.
Sir Alex too did take risks in his initial years as the manager and after that, his achievements went beyond limits.
- Sir Alex’s ways.
Van Gaal, when appointed as the manager in 2014, told the fans to get over their past as thing were about to change as it is a different era. Surely, he was right. But given two years and seeing no progress, how can he justify that statement now? It surely isn’t wrong if the club works and proceeds the same way it was being under the former manager because that’s what the legacy of this historic club is in the current generation. Whether it is Louis Van Gaal or Jose Mourinho or just some other guy who is still not in the news of being the potential Red Devils’ manager, they must change the way the club has been working or restore it back to how it was being done during Sir Alex’s era. For example, Strikers getting the majority of the goals and the team being more aggressive.
- Spend less. Spend good.
It’s funny how since Manchester United started spending huge amounts of money like Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and others, their position and form has gone south.
United needs to give a break to all the new signings which are being anticipated and must invest their money in the right players.
- Ryan Giggs should be the new manager.
Giggs himself came through the ranks to become the most decorated player in the club’s splendid history. The United legend knows the club and the fans and has enough experience on and off the pitch at this club to manage it without any difficulties. The Welshman can manage the team Fergie’s way. Jose Mourinho on the other hand, will most probably be exploiting the tradition of playing youth players.
