2. Rooney is Back
United’s midfield had a field day yesterday, with Villa failing to press and shut down the likes of Mata and Rooney. The former Evertonian, who played for 70 minutes last night for the first time after being out for injury for 2 months, was brilliant with his passing. His 50-yard cross field pass to Antonio set up United’s goal, and overall he controlled the tempo of the match. One hopes with the semifinals of the Cup coming up, he can build on his performance!
