Tottenham Hotspurs’ former player Teddy Sheringham believes that Harry Kane should consider moving to Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window. The player has also played for Manchester United in their 1999 treble winning season and has urged the current Spurs star to manage the timing.
Harry Kane has been linked with Manchester United in the recent years after he has come into the spotlight last season and this season. However, Sheringham believes that the player will make a wise decision if he chooses either Manchester United or Real Madrid should the clubs come knocking.
United are currently trailing spurs by three positions on the table and could miss out on Champions League spot for the next season. Harry Kane may have to sacrifice Champions League football in order to come to Old Trafford but Sheringham feels that the Red Devils are a better prospect for the player’s career in the long term.
He said,
“Timing’s a funny thing in football because you have to take the opportunity when it arises. If you don’t, another striker might go to United or Real Madrid or whoever we’re talking about and you won’t get the chance again for another four or five years.”
