The Anthem was written and recorded by Frank Renshaw at the Strawberry Studios in Stockport. Frank Renshaw was a member of the Herman’s Hermits, an English pop band formed in Manchester in 1963. The music of the song were taken from the Battle Hymn of Republic, a hymn which became popular during the American Civil War.
