Last summer Borussia Dortmund failed to qualify for the Champions League and not surprisingly many of their players were linked with a move away from the club. One such player that got heavily linked with Manchester United was Mats Hummels.
The Red Devils were interested in the German defender but a deal could not happen as the player decided to stay back. Now the player has only one year left on his contract and according to Bild, is considering a move away from Westfalenstadion.
He was reported speaking to the German TV where he seemed to be in a bit of two minds about his future. This is probably a good news for Manchester United who are looking for a partner for Chris Smalling. Mats Hummels brings world cup winning experience with a mix of Champions league finalist’s knowledge which could add more stability and steel to the fragile United defense.
