After so many failures in all competitions, United will be looking to strengthen their squad. Manchester United isn’t anymore an intimidating club like it used to be during Sir Alex’s era. There have been rumors that Spanish playmaker, Ander Herrera is wanted by both Athletico Madrid and Juventus.
Perhaps leaving Manchester United, after just 2 seasons spent playing for Red Devils, Ander Herrera (26) has become a target for the Spanish club, eager to try signing him next summer. He is currently on a deal with the English club until June 2018. Former Athletic Bilbao player’s possession is esteemed around 17 million euros.
While the last two seasons have recognized to be a real struggle for the Manchester club, the performances of Ander Herrera can be seen as a bit of a positive for the Red Devils.
In spite of being one of the more impacting players for United this season, Herrera is not necessarily first choice under Louis van Gaal and the midfielder has recently been used as an impact substitute.
Juventus is also believed to be interested in the Spanish playmaker during the upcoming summer transfer window as they predict losing their star player Paul Pogba to a currently bigger club like Real Madrid or Barcelona. The Italian club will be in need of a playmaker in the absence of the former Manchester United player. Herrera would be tempted by the vision of joining a presently better team like Juventus if he is their first team player.
Ander Herrera has been in somewhat of a decent consistent form playing as Centre Attacking Midfielder, Centre Midfielder and Centre Defensive Midfielder. Herrera has scored four goals in total and has provided 2 assists in all competitions for Manchester United this season. His passing success on an average has been 86%.
Manchester United needs to get a hold of their players and work it out mostly with whatever they have apart from signing a striker and a defender. Ander Herrera shouldn’t be let go by the club for any amount as he has gotten used to playing in the English Premier League and performing better than most of the players recently. He has shown his ability to make key passes- both long and short. The Spanish midfielder along with his fellow countryman, Juan Mata controls the tempo of their team in the midfield. Herrera contributes in the defense as well, having an ability to tackle.
Louis Van Gaal (or any other manager) should keep Herrera and give him more playing time to become an effective player for the Red Devils.
