Manchester United welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford on Sunday to take revenge for what happened last time they met each other back in October at the Emirates. The 3-0 loss for United had left the club and the fans disappointed to a massive extent and the players will be looking forward to give their best at home.
With United winning their last 2 games, the team must be confident to have a brilliant display against the Gunners. The upcoming clash between the two famous rivals can be an absolute crackerjack. Arsenal have showed their dominance in the League with players like Ozil, Sanchez and Giroud performing extremely well consistently.
With all that in mind, here is the expected line-up for tomorrow’s match:
Goalkeeper – De Gea
LVG is hopeful that our No.1 will return to face the Gunners after missing the last three games. De Gea was injured during the warm-up of United’s Europa League clash against Midtjylland away from home. If not him, then Sergio Romero is the obvious choice to replace him.
Defenders – Blind, Chris Smalling, Borthwick-Jackson and Varela
Chris Smalling and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson are able to make their comeback according to recent news. If they are available, there’s no doubt that they won’t be in the starting XI. While the consistent form shown by Blind as a central defender earns him his place by default.
Midfielders – Schneiderlin, Carrick, Lingard, Depay and Mata
With the recent formation comprising of 5 midfielders, these players are sure to make the cut. Michael Carrick played in defence on Thursday but should move back to midfield if Smalling is supposedly set to come back. Depay, Mata and Lingard could all keep their places against the Gunners.
Attackers – Marcus Rashford
While Anthony Martial is still a major doubt after suffering a hamstring injury in the warm up for the match against Midtjylland and Wayne Rooney still out with a knee injury for a few weeks, Rashford could make it into the team for his Premier League debut after scoring in his Europa League debut on Thursday night at Old Trafford.
