Manchester United has convincingly won in Shrewsbury and managed to reach FA Cup quarter finals. The win, however has done little to affirm Louis Van Gaal’s future at Old Trafford. The decorated Dutch manager is just one loss away from getting sacked and is no closer to convincing the Old Trafford fans that he is the right man for the job.

The obvious name that has been circulating the media is Jose Mourinho. The self proclaimed special one is favorite to replace Van Gaal and as per some reports the deal is already agreed upon. As per Daily star and Manchester Evening News, the Portuguese has already agreed to join Manchester United in the summer. Though there has not been any written agreement a verbal consent seems to be in place.

Jose Mourinho has won the domestic title with every team he has managed and kind of guarantees an immediate success. The question is, are United willing to let go of their long term vision for short term trophies?
