According to The Sun, Manchester United and City are ready to meet Neymar’s release clause at an enormous £145 million. Few days back the player’s father also claimed that United had already made their move last summer.
Till now it was considered that Barcelona are confident of tying down the player with an extended contract, but now the player himself has revealed that “anything can happen” after the team’s victory against Celta Vigo. Now that is encouraging for the Manchester clubs. The player is currently under investigation for tax evasion by the authority and the father of the player had suggested earlier that if it carries on then they will look to leave the country. Barcelona has also publicly stated their financial stress to keep three high profile players and is thought to be letting one of them leave.
In addition to the above, Neymar is looking for an improved contract over his existing one. Considering all these points, it is not impossible that Barcelona will listen to offers for Neymar. Manchester United needs to gear up and get ready to move.
