FC Inter News has reported that Yuto Nagatomo was made an offer at the dying moments by Manchester United but a deal was not agreed upon. Louis Van Gaal had wanted a full-back ever since Luke Shaw got injured and the team only got thinner with further injuries from Jones, Young, Valencia and Rojo.
As per the report, Bayern Leverkusen is also interested in the Japanese defender. But Manchester United is said to have led the chase and were in discussion with Inter Milan. Even though Nagatomo has not featured a lot this season, the Italian club decided not to sell him. Earlier during the Alex Ferguson era as well the team from Old Trafford wanted to buy the player.
Nagatomo’s contract expires in the summer and Inter is hopeful that they can get the player to sign a deal. However if that falls apart, United can get him for free in the summer.
