Guillermo Varela has been an impressive this season. Manchester United currently are packing a thin defensive first team players with several of their defenders injured. However, players from the youth team like Brothwick-Jackson and Varela has stepped up in order to provide the support the team needs. And they have done it quite well.
The player was supposed to leave on loan in January as he needed more game time but Louis Van Gaal has stopped the move and is counting on the player as per the reports. Varela joined United from Penarol in July 2013. He has also played in Real Madrid Castilla before this season.
According to the defender, Louis Van Gaal has a completely different approach and that is why many of the players from Sir Alex Ferguson era are struggling. He also denied the rumors that Van Gaal does not get along with South American players. Now as per the report, the club and the player are set to renew the contract and Varela is going to get improved deal due to his contribution this season.
He said,
“Rumours say he has always had some kind of problems with South Americans. To tell you the truth, I haven’t had any so far.
