Manchester United Transfer News: Two Defenders To Solve The Problem

Manchester United Transfers 2021-22

Rio Ferdinand, long time United faithful, has urged Manchester United to buy John Stones and Rafael Varane. Stones and Varane, 21 and 22 years old respectively, are regular players for their clubs and has caught the eyes of several big clubs around the world.

Stones was linked with Manchester United last summer when Chelsea tried to buy the player three times and failed in their bid. Varane on the other hand was almost on the flight to Manchester before Zinedine Zidane intervened and took the player away to Real Madrid. Now with Zidane at the helm of the club it looks unlikely that the young defender will be leaving anytime soon but a considerable amount of money may make things happen.

Ferdinand has urged the United board to spare no expense to try to acquire these two players as they are in their early twenties and can play for another 10 years.

Ferdinand said: “I don’t care how much it is. You are getting a player for ten years. John Stones and Raphael Varane are the best in the world.

“The team starts at the back. Your platform for winning titles starts in defence. If Stones goes to another English club they will regret it.”

Will United listen to the veteran defender? We United fans certainly hope so!
