2. UNITED’S MIDFIELD CONTINUES TO DISAPPOINT

Manchester United’s midfield has been exceptionally slow this season, and last night was no different. Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Bastian Schweinsteiger all looked jaded and took too much time in picking a final pass or feeding the ball upfront, as a result of which most of the attacks in the first 60 minutes ended with hopeful crosses into the box which Sheffield’s tall centre backs had no problem defending. The Spanish duo of Mata and Herrera were incredibly poor once again, as they played way too many wall passes and lost the ball every now and then, as a result of which United failed to manufacture any real goal threat.
