3 Things We Learnt From Manchester United’s Crucial Win Over Swansea: Martial Is A Dynamite

published :

Manchester United have finally won a game of football, as unreal as that may sound. The Red Devils beat Swansea 2-1 at Old Trafford in a pulsating match, whose first half was a bit drab but the second half was an engaging affair. Anthony Martial scored and set up Wayne Rooney while Gylfi Sigurdsson scored for Swansea City. The Frenchman again showed why he is one of Europe’s most exciting prospects at the moment, while Rooney’s goal saw him overtake Dennis Law in the United’s all-time goalscorers list just after Sir Bobby Charlton, while he also crossed Andy Cole to be ranked right after Alan Shearer in Premier League’s all-time goalscorer’s chart with 188 goals. The win meant United registered only their first win since November, ending the club’s worst record of not winning 8 consecutive games since the 1989-90 campaign. Here are 3 things we learnt from the game:

1. ANTHONY MARTIAL IS A DYNAMITE

Very few 20-year-olds manage to have what Martial already has a chant by the Opd Trafford faithful dedicated to him. The former Monaco striker again showed just how sensational he is, with not only scoring from a brilliant header but also by setting up Rooney’s winner. In general, he gave a torrid time to Swansea’s fullbacks, by regularly drifting in and dribbling past two or three of them with ease. Whenever United needed someone to spread the ball out wide or to hold the ball up the pitch, he did so with equal precision. Overall, whatever van Gaal’s future maybe, he surely has gifted the club with a real gem.
