Predicted 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Lineup To Face Norwich City: Youngsters Set To Start

Manchester United are struggling and it’s visible for everyone to see. Only 6 goals in their last 7 League games which includes only 2 victories is simply not good enough. Their poor league form continued in the UEFA Champions League where a humiliating loss at Wolfsburg saw them eliminated from the competition. Despite their poor performances, United sit 4th in the League, 3 points clear of 5th place Spurs and 3 points behind City in 3rd. The pressure however, is starting to build on Louis Van Gaal as the injuries continue to pile up. The frustration is clear among the fans and the call to remove the manager has been growing. With Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and possibly Pep Guardiola all available, LVG needs a turnaround fast.

There is some good news for United on the injury front. Van Gaal informed MUTV that Rooney, Smalling and Herrera have all had a full week of training. If fit enough, all three should walk back into United’s side. He also added that Young was progressing while Darmian and Lingard have been ruled out.

The one positive they can draw from the Wolfsburg game was that their attack did a better job. However, focussing on attacking meant the defence fell apart. Mata once again had a very poor game apart from the assist. Their main problem is that is they move the ball way too slowly. They’re unable to breakdown an organized defence. This leads them to put in crosses with only one player in the box.

It’s normally Martial who doesn’t have a big physical presence. United teams of the past always have flowing wingers who look to take on the defenders. So far, only Lingard and Martial have looked to take on players. Memphis looks like he’s short on confidence and looses the ball far too often. Not only that, they don’t take enough shots. They have players who are more than capable from scoring from the edge of the box, but they reach there and pass backwards.

Norwich themselves have only won one of their last 10 games. They sit in 18th place and are struggling to find form. It’s the perfect opportunity for United to turn things around and gain some momentum as they enter a busy period in the Barclays Premier League.

Here is the Predicted 4-2-3-1 lineup that LVG might use against Norwich tomorrow.
