Manchester United Transfers 2021-22

Well, the transfer window is knocking and the door and as always, the press have already linked a host of players to Manchester United. However, very few of them have a probability of actually happening, the players are either too important for their clubs or they play in a position that United don’t need to invest in currently. However, as Van Gaal mentioned in a press conference recently, United don’t really have the quickest players on the wing, as both Mata and Lingard are slow while Martial is more of a striker. So here we look at 3 possible targets for United on the flanks this winter:

1.SADIO MANE

Sadio Mane was linked to a move to Old Trafford in the summer, but it broke down because Southampton though that he was worth much more than the 15 million pounds United were offering. This season, the 23-year-old Senegalese star has been in fine form, scoring six goals in thirteen appearances, spearheading the Saint’s attack on several occasions. He is also a hard worker on the pitch, which is an aspect van Gaal admires. However, he will not come cheap, and may cost upward of 25 million pounds now.

2.MARCO REUS

Reuss had signed a new improved contract with Borussia Dortmund last February, which did not have a release clause. However, United do have the financial might to at least force the German club into contemplating a sale, but any possibility of that happening in the winter is extremely unlikely. The 26-year old has been in terrific form this season, as Dortmund continue to rip defences apart for fun. If the Red Devils do manage to lure this world class winger, it will be one heck of signing for sure.

3. RIYAD MAHREZ

The Leicester City forward has been outstanding this season, even when his compatriot Jamie Vardy steals away most of the headlines , yet the Blue Foxes’ manager Claudio Ranieri knows the contribution Mahrez has in propelling the club to such a fine start. 8 goals in 13 appearances, a wide array of tricks and an excellent work ethic has made the 24-year-old Algerian a hit prospect, and he is probably the most viable and believable target for United out of the 3 mentioned here.
