Manchester United are the moment going great, as far as the Premier League is concerned and are currently placed at third place in the table. Meanwhile one club, which is not doing so well in the same League is Paul Lambert’s Aston Villa side. Villa is currently placed at 16th position on the table with 22 points, three points above the relegation, after a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, at the Emirates. The club has been going through a poor run of form for sometime now and the performances don’t seem to be improving now. Moreover, the Premier League giants of one time, have not been able to score for over a total of 10 hours now and the defending has been quite disappointing as well.
One man, who did not have a good game against The Gunners, was England international Tom Cleverley. The midfielder who is on loan from United this season has not been up to the mark in recent times and has made a total of 17 appearances at his new club. The 25 year old who was at clubs like Watford and Wigan previously was unable to make any sort of impact on the game and was substituted by Lambert around the hour mark.
Just when it looked that things couldn’t get any worse for Villa, BBC reporter David Ornstein has recently tweeted that Manchester United have issued Aston Villa an ultimatum. The Premier League side, now have been given the option of either buying Cleverley on a permanent basis for £7m or let him go back to Old Trafford. The English midfielder, who was on a season long loan will be recalled by United, if Villa choose against the option of a purchase. The Red Devils know that Villa are desperate at the moment and will be forced into spending, if pushed further into making a decision. United have given their rivals, till the end of the transfer window, which is till 11pm tonight to decide. What happens next, will be Villa’s choice, as Cleverley’s future hangs in the balance.
