Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez Favours Premier League Move: Why He Would Be Fearsome At Old Trafford

published :

Barcelona’s new era under Luis Enrique, will involve making changes that should have been made two years ago but one surprising omission from his plans is Alexis Sanchez.

The Daily Express reports that Manchester United are one of three Premier League clubs monitoring the Sanchez situation at Barcelona, which could see him leave this summer.

I understand that Luis Enrique is having to make a lot of changes which should have been made gradually to evolve the squad, but it is turning into a squad overhaul.

Valdes, Pinto, Puyol, Xavi, Fabregas, Song, Tello and Alexis Sanchez. Just a few names who are leaving, retired or have been sold. That is most certainly starting fresh.

But you would forgive fans who watch La Liga for wondering why on earth Sanchez is being allowed to leave?

Although the Catalans ended the season without a trophy, the Chilean forward finished behind Lionel Messi as Barcelona’s highest goalscorer with 19 goals. (Squawka)

And in this World Cup so far he has been the driving force behind outside favourites Chile, scoring one and setting up one against the resilient Australia. (Squawka)

In my opinion, Sanchez is the perfect winger for Louis van Gaal. He’s quick, direct, can score goals and as we saw against Spain, he certainly knows how to press the ball.

Whether the move will come off or not I am not sure, there rumours that Juventus were in talks but it seems the Premier League is proving a more attractive proposition.
