Manchester United Set To Miss Out On Arturo Vidal: Why This Is A Big Loss

published :

It seems like the pool of top quality midfielders that Manchester United are targeting is getting smaller by the day, as they look like missing out on another long-term target.

The Express reports that a deal between Juventus and Real Madrid will see Alvaro Morata join the ‘Biancioneri’ and Arturo Vidal join the new European Champions.

Vidal is currently one of the most sought after midfielder in Europe, since joining Juventus from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011, his stock has risen considerably.

The Chilean midfielder has always been known for his physical attributes, but it during his time in Serie A he has developed the technical side of his game.

At 27, I see him as one of the most complete midfielders in the world. This season he helped Juventus to their 30th league title with 11 goals and five assists. (Squawka)

I could have seen him having a similar impact at Manchester United, as Yaya Toure has had at city rivals Manchester City.

He is an all action box-to-box midfielder, with passing, skill, tackling and goals. He very much could have been seen as the first real replacement for Roy Keane.

Unfortunately, as United are currently in this ‘transitional period’ they are not being seen as a viable option for most A-list players around Europe.

It most likely that with Morata going to Juventus, that Real Madrid will get their man and finally have a suitable replacement for ageing midfielder Xabi Alonso.
