Manchester United’s back-up striker Javier Hernandez rarely complains about his lack of playing time at Old Trafford but now seems like the time for him to make a change.
The Daily Star reports that ‘Chicharito’ is the number one attacking target for Serie A side Inter Milan, who want him on-loan with an option to buy for £10 million next summer.
Hernandez struggled to break into the side, or even the bench at times with David Moyes as manager. He managed 35 appearances in all competitions, his lowest in his four years at United.
With Louis van Gaal likely to install his fabled 4-3-3 formation which he brings wherever he goes, it means there will be only one striking spot.
It seems fair to assume that Hernandez’ time in Manchester will come to an end this summer and with Inter Milan the front runners for his signature, he could follow Nemanja Vidic to the San Siro.
Inter are a club in transition, having gone from winning a historic treble under Jose Mourinho back in 2010 to finishing fifth in Serie A in 2014.
They are struggling to find any remnants of stability, since Mourinho’s departure they have had six coaches in four years and senior players like Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso and Walter Samuel have all retired.
The ‘Nerazzurri’ are a side looking for an identity, and they are doing their best to find it this summer, with Vidic already signed up, Chicharito would be a great signing.
A fox-in-the-box striker who at 26, is only coming into his ‘prime years’ in which his clinical nature in front of goal in only going to increase.
