After not being given a real chance under David Moyes, Zaha is hoping to put his first year at United behind him and start fresh this season under new management.
The Daily Mail reports that the 21 year-old winger is looking to get his dream move to Manchester United back on track, and is hoping to make an impact.
After being signed by Sir Alex Ferguson, Zaha was never really given the opportunity under Moyes, or at least did not have the same faith put in him that Adnan Januzaj did.
A reported falling out with Moyes then saw the winger sent on-loan to eventually relegated Cardiff City, where Zaha did feature.
He made 12 league appearances and although he didn’t score, he did offer one assist. But an interesting statistic was his take-ons, he had an impressive 63% success rate. (Squawka)
A great example of why Ferguson was willing to spend £15 million on an untested winger from the Championship, he is fast, direct and possesses the ability to beat a man.
These are certainly qualities that will be appealing to van Gaal, especially considering that United’s wide players may be significantly reduced in the summer.
Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia and Nani are all linked with moves abroad, which leaves the two youngsters Zaha and Januzaj.
It is difficult to predict how this situation will pan out but if Zaha is given some attention, instruction and playing time by van Gaal, I think he could prove his worth.
