Manchester United Should Look To Barcelona Mass Exodus For New Players: Here’s Why

published :

Manchester United are not the only European giant entering a new era, as Barcelona will announce former player Luis Enrique as their new manager tomorrow.

Marca reports that the Barcelona board will listen to offers for up to seven of their current squad, those mentioned are Song, Mascherano, Tello, Pedro, Alexis, Alves and United target Cesc Fabregas.

The former Arsenal captain was the clubs main transfer target last summer, as they attempted to re-vamp their midfield but were unsuccessful in their pursuit.

Two main components which are vital in any successful midfield are speed and creativity. The current midfield at Old Trafford lacks both.

However, players like Pedro and Alexis are top quality wingers and they would no doubt bring back the days of fast, exciting wingers to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

As for creativity, that is a quality that Cesc Fabregas has in abundance. In what has been another difficult season for him in Catalonia, he has still managed eight goals and provided 13 assists.

It is reported that although all seven of these players are up for sale, but that does not mean that they will all leave. Barcelona will decide who leaves based on the offers received.

Alexis Sanchez would be an excellent acquisition for van Gaal. He was Barcelona’s second top goalscorer behind Lionel Messi, with 19 league goals from out wide.

He is an out and out winger with blistering pace, an eye for goal and has been playing in the 4-3-3 formation during his time at the Camp Nou.

Could he tick any more boxes?
