It is finally here. The game we have all been waiting for. This afternoon we invite our friends from Merseyside to Old Trafford in order to put them back in their place and move up the table, and although Liverpool are currently flying, we are Manchester United and they will always be in our shadow. Moyes has a lot to prove but I think today could be the turning point, as long as he gets his selection correct. Here is how I would line up our players if I was the boss.
Sticking to the 4-4-2 that we have been used to, I would have David De Gea in goal, Rafael on the right and Patrice Evra continuing on the left.
Then, in the middle, I would opt for Nemanja Vidic for the experience he offers, and Phil Jones for the composure on the ball.
Sitting in the middle I would have Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini as they are looking strong at the moment, and I’d have Adnan Januzaj on the left flank. He has the determination to beat his man but also is willing to try and spark an attack.
I’d have Juan Mata in a slightly wider role on the right, with Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney in the forward berths.
United fans do you agree with me?
