Manchester United travel to Cardiff this afternoon in the latter part of ‘Super Sunday’ and while most expect the Red Devils to pick up a routine victory in the south of Wales, my money is going on the not-so-blue-birds to pick up a result. Here’s why.
Manchester United have struggled on the back of international breaks this season as a result of injuries and extensive personnel leaving the club to represent their country. This time will be no different, in my eyes, as United are currently without Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Rafael, Phil Jones, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini and Robin van Persie, so will be travelling to the Valleys with a bare squad.
Which takes me nicely onto my next point; the midfield. United have struggled as it is with the middle of their squad and are now without their main two central players. Cardiff have a real chance to overrun Moyes’ men in the middle and in turn, in my eyes, will have a massive chance of winning the game.
Cardiff have been relatively strong at home this season, beating Manchester City and Swansea, which also suggests they love the big, important games. Laugh at me all you like but my money will be going on Malky Mackay’s men.
