Since the turn of the year I have been really impressed with Wayne Rooney’s scoring form, 10 goals with 8 of them for his club and 2 of them for country.
He hasn’t been scoring as frequently as he was last season but lets not forget about the signing of Robin van Persie with his amazing form for the majority of the season, a few knocks that Wayne has picked up during the course of the season and that he hasn’t been playing as the central striker like last season but playing just off of and behind van Persie. He has also had to fill in midfield at times and also play at the top of the diamond when that formation has been used.
He has scored 20 goals so far this season for club and country (16 for United and 4 for England) and I think that is impressive considering what he has had to put up with this season and with his recent form this is the Wayne Rooney we all know and love watching.
He scored 2 against Southampton at home, scored another away to Fulham which proved to be a match winner and he has scored 3 goals from 4 games in March so far with all 3 of those goals coming from when he has started the matches against Norwich, Chelsea and Reading all at home.
If Wayne does carry on this impressive form then I don’t see any reason why he cannot break the 25 goal barrier for his club and I am certain he will get close as he is only 4 goals off of the 20 goal mark for us this season and with an intelligent player like him he is always popping up in and around the area to get on the end of chances.
>He isn’t one of those players that just relies on others because Wayne can make a chance for himself and take it. We all know what he is like with his long range shooting to and he has shown this down the years against Fulham and Athletic Bilbao from last season and his amazing strike against Norwich a few weeks ago being the recent long rangers that spring to mind.
Wayne hasn’t only been in good goal scoring form but his overall play has been fantastic this season. He has set up an amazing partnership with RVP, played well in the positions Sir Alex Ferguson has played him and has been acting as a playmaker for the others in the side and we all know that because he is a fantastic team player and always has been.

What a one-eyed view of the overweight, overpaid, hair transplant.
Gone is the drive and anger that made him effective. Poor passing, slow movement and then the odd flash of something are all we have seen from him this season.
I predict its his last on those crazy wages, only French tax laws will prevent him going to PSG to join that Harlem Globetrotters team. He will still be able to eat boudin noir.
Rooney was good, never great, but pretty damn good when we bought him. His lifestyle has diminished his powers and now he is not good enough for Manchester United.
