The transfer window isn’t even open yet but I’ve already lost count of the number of players we’ve been linked to, some realistic and some absolutely ridiculous. Here I will tell you a little about one of our more realistic ‘targets’ Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.
Asamoah is a 23 year old central midfielder who plays his football in Serie A for Udinese and since making his debut in January 2008 he has progressed and turned into a key player for both club and country.
The midfielder is different to most of our other rumoured targets, he isn’t as cultured or eye-catching as players like Shinji Kagawa or Eden Hazard, his strengths are his great engine, his power and tackling ability. His style is very similar to Darren Fletcher, he’s constantly harassing his opponents, giving them little time on the ball.
The reported asking price for Asamoah is around £12m and i think that is a fair price. Although he’s a good player he still has areas of his game where he needs to improve but who better to learn from than Sir Alex Ferguson, he loves a rough diamond.
Personally i would be a little surprised if we signed Asamoah, mainly due to the fact that in my opinion we’re in need of someone who is proven at the top level and can make an instant impact but if Anderson is sold or Fletcher fails to recover from his illness then it could well happen.

I haven't heard of the lad other than on rumour threads, but if he's starting for Ghana and Udinese, he might be a bargain deal. If he's signed, expect Anderson to move.
