Yerry Mina was one of the best players for Colombia in the recent World Cup and the central defender seems to have caught the eye of Manchester United according to RMC (h/t ESPN).

The 23-year-old scored 3 goals for the South American side as he even scored a late goal in the 1-1 draw against England in the knockout rounds.

However, the defender didn’t play all that much for Barcelona last season as he only got six matches under his belt since moving to the Catalan side in the winter window.

While United have brought in three players this season, we have not signed a central defender and the report claims that the Colombian is a target for the Red Devils.

There is competition for the player as Lyon and Everton are also keeping tabs on the 23-year-old.

Mina certainly is a player with potential and given that we need some young blood in the heart of the defence, he could be a cheap signing as Barcelona look to make quick bucks.

The 23-year-old would possibly want to get more playing time under his belt and he could end up going to a club that offers him exactly that.

The Colombian’s stock would certainly have risen after his incredible performances in Russia and if we can sign him on the cheap, this could be a quality investment for the future.

Jose Mourinho could blood Mina in through the cup games and the Champions League, so there would be chances for the Colombian to prove his ability to the manager and the fans.
