Khedira On United’s Radar Alongside Benfica Duo

Manchester United are maintaining their interest in Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira according to the latest rumours. The Germany international, 24, has been in and out of Jose Mourinho’s starting line-up this season and is believed to be considering his options for next season.

Khedira is a strong holding midfield player who has the ability to create, cover, pass and tackle in midfield and but for the outstanding form of Xabi Alonso would be one of the first names down on Real’s team-sheet.

There’s no doubt judging by his form at International level that he’s strong and tactically aware-enough to be a success in the Premier League and would certainly add more power to United’s central-midfield which has been lagging in recent years.

United are also keeping tabs on Benfica’s highly-rated midfield pair Nicolas Gaitan and Javi Garcia. Both players impressed against United in the Champions League and would along with Khedira be targets for a whole host of top European sides.

Realistically only one of the three will be signed. It shall be interesting to see who if anybody is brought to Old Trafford and whether they can live up to their reputations from the Iberian peninsula.
