So my predicted team for United at Aston Villa was wrong, I only got 10 of the 11 starting line-up right and the man who scored the winner replaced Ryan Giggs. The date was April 1st 2006. The venue was the Reebok Stadium. The ball was in the back of the net for a 2-1 win. Nobody inside or outside the ground realized at the time that goal would be Ruud van Nistelrooy’s 150th and final Manchester United goal.
Sunday of course marked Sir Alex Ferguson’s 25 years in charge of Manchester United. During that time Old Trafford has seen countless amounts of fantastic players showcase their talents for the club with many of them providing moments of magic that will live on forever.
It’s time to start picking an England XI for the Euro’s as the season is in full swing and only a few games remain for Fabio Capello to try out players in friendlies before Euro 2012 starts in Poland and Ukraine.
