Typically, a club like Manchester United, which has a rich history and is one of the most successful football clubs in the world, would have high expectations. These expectations will include competing for top honours in domestic and international competitions, such as the English Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, and domestic cup competitions.
This season, we are back in the UEFA Champions League after a year-long wait. Last term, we reached the finals of the FA Cup and EFL Cup but won only the latter. These are all trophies we have competed for even during seasons we weren’t utterly dominant in the league.
The winning feeling is back at Manchester United thanks to Erik ten Hag. This season has to be better than the previous one to justify the spending here and to cement the progress we have made under the Dutchman,
The Premier League could be out of reach considering Manchester City’s utter dominance. But the return to the top will only come after we restore the winning mentality in this club, and that can only come from winning competitions – be it the FA Cup, EFL Cup or any other cup competition we get to play in.
