The draw for the knockout stages of the Champions League are out! Manchester United have drawn Spanish giants Real Madrid.
This is THE tie of the round. On one hand we have Real who are desperate to land the fabled `La Decima` and on the other we have United whose manager Sir Alex Ferguson wants a third UCL title badly.
The Champions League last 16 draw brings Real Madrid to us, a two-legged affair between top teams in the top 2 leagues in Europe.
This mouth watering event, has match ups from manager to the bench, that pits top players in every position against their counterparts. Surely a game for the connoisseur, Rioja vs Single Malt, different yet each the best in their geography.
Manchester United has an attack force which can rival the best in Europe. The capture of Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie has brought back the `wow` factor which the team had perhaps lost when Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez departed in the summer of 2009.

Manchester United comfortably beat Sunderland today.The 3-1 scoreline flatters the visitors as it could easily have been 6-1 had Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie not missed their chances. Rooney, RvP and the increasingly impressive Tom Cleverley got the goals as United ran out comfortable winners.

The date was February 18th 2006, it was a Saturday, we were playing Liverpool in the 5th round of the FA Cup at Anfield, this was to be my first experience of a game that is filled with rivalry, passion and hatred, both on and off the field.
The rivalry between the cities stretches back to industrial times when they were both competing for supremacy of the north-west.
Take your mind back to the summer of 2011.
Back then Samir Nasri was on his way out of Arsenal, another one of Arsene Wenger’s big-name players that was being priced out of the Emirates. His destination it always seemed was Manchester, but people were unsure of whether he would be lining up in a red or a blue shirt.
On a day when expectations were low amongst the United faithful the real Manchester United turned up at Middle Eastlands in a thrilling Derby deservedly won by the better team.

As we well know Manchester United and City have won the last 2 Premier League titles. Going into Sunday’s match at the Etihad, United fans were thinking of nothing but revenge for losing the title and goals, because they know how important it is to score more than once in a derby-match.

Manchester United won the derby in true United style! To be frank I was very upset when the scores were 2-2 but thanks to Robin van Persie’s free kick (nicely assisted by Samir Nasri!) United won it 3-2 to go six points clear at the top.
