Liverpool are eyeing up a €60 million offer for Manchester United target Eduardo Camavinga
Manchester United continue to track the transfer market with interest in players who can strengthen their midfield next summer. The club’s recruitment team has kept a close watch on Eduardo Camavinga, a name that keeps coming up in discussions across Europe. The Frenchman’s situation at Real Madrid has drawn fresh attention, especially after Xabi Alonso took charge. His changing role has definitely caught the eyes of Premier League scouts.
Spanish news outlet Fichajes has recently reported that Liverpool have also renewed their interest in Camavinga and plan to make an offer of around €60 million. Meanwhile, Manchester United carefully assess their position, knowing Real Madrid could reconsider if a big offer arrives. The Spanish club wants to keep the Frenchman, but a strong financial proposal might force the board to reconsider.
Since the Frenchman joined Real Madrid in 2021, Camavinga has shown his versatility and infectious energy. However, Alonso wants a settled midfield trio of Valverde, Bellingham, and Tchouaméni, limiting Camavinga’s playing time.
The 22-year-old midfielder still retains a high value, but there is some uncertainty regarding his future due to his reduced role in the squad. United have been admiring him for a long time, and now, with Liverpool stepping up, there will be a question of whether they should test Madrid’s resolve if the summer transfer window gives them a chance.
Manchester United’s midfield needs urgent reinforcement

Manchester United’s midfield has definitely shown the signs of weakness under pressure. The team often leaves too much space between the lines, which exposes the defence and breaks their build-up rhythm. Casemiro’s poor timing and slowing pace, despite a recent step up in form, worsen the problem in defensive transitions, while others in midfield fail to win the ball quickly or link defence and attack well. As a result, United lose balance, energy, and control in the middle of the pitch.
The type of midfielder United should target
United need a defensive midfielder who stays calm under pressure and dominates duels. This player has to win tackles, intercept passes, and move the ball forward with accuracy and pace. He has to carry the ball through tight spaces and shield the defence with smart positioning. A player like that will provide creative talents such as Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo more freedom to play higher up the pitch.
Why does Camavinga fit but remain out of reach?
Eduardo Camavinga will perfectly fit this need. His tenacity, tackling skills, and ball progression could transform United’s midfield under Rúben Amorim. However, Real Madrid still refuse to sell him easily, while his €1 billion release clause blocks the potential of any easy transfer.
So, we feel that United should focus on realistic options that offer similar qualities instead of wasting time chasing an impossible deal. They have been tracking Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton, both of whom carry a huge price tag with them, but Morten Hjulmand could turn out to be a great option.
