“Forgo everything else”- Lucky summer signing hailed for Manchester United impact

Ben Foster believes Bryan Mbuemo has been Manchester United’s best signing of the summer

Former Manchester United goalkeeper, has singled out Bryan Mbeumo as the club’s best acquisition from the summer 2025 transfer window.

In a recent episode of his YouTube channel, The Cycling GK, Foster shared his verdict on United’s new arrivals and also spoke about the season so far in general. Here is what he had to say about Mbeumo.

“I think Bryan Mbeumo has probably been the best signing for Man United so far this season. I like his work rate. I just think for me, the harder you work, the luckier you get.”

“Yeah. And I don’t mind players that work hard. You can forgo everything else. If you’re working hard and give me everything you’ve got, I think you’ve got a chance.”

Mbeumo’s arrival addressed a glaring need in the attacking line after a dismal previous campaign. The club invested heavily to revitalise the forward unit, bringing in Benjamin Sesko for the number nine role, Matheus Cunha for added depth, and Mbeumo to inject pace and versatility on the right flank. Among these, Mbeumo has adapted most swiftly, recording two goals and one assist in a still-adapating squad.

Well in, Bryan!

Foster’s choice elevates Mbeumo above other promising additions. Senne Lammens has steadied the goalkeeping position, replacing the inconsistent Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir with calm assurance. Sesko has also started to adapt better to the Premier League and has injected vitality into the central attack, but WIP still. Yet Cunha’s injury setbacks have limited his contributions, leaving Mbeumo as the clearest bright spot.

Head coach Amorim has been vocal in his approval, describing Mbeumo’s role as crucial and also expressing satisfaction with his rapid integration with the process at OT. Having a vote of confidence from his manager, and a vocal ex-player like Foster will only go on to increase Mbeumo’s confidence.

Even with all these signings and everything that has gone on behind the scenes, there still remain gaps that need filling. Big teething issues will only start fading with the right players playing for United, and Mbeumo, hopefully helps propel the Red Devils back to the Glory Days.

Bryan Mbeumo’s performances gives the broader Man United fanbase hope.

For now, the point of attention has to surely be to extract the best out of himself in terms of numbers, and help elevate the status of players around him as well. That’s the definition of a true team player, and going by his antics at Brentford, there’s very little reason to believe why he would not emulate that at Old Trafford.
