Matt Le Tissier has called on Manchester United to opt for Oliver Glasner over Gareth Southgate
There is this air of pressure around Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim is walking on the edge, with reports indicating a possible personnel change at the helm at M16. It was that 3-1 defeat to Brentford which brewed this air of frustration to the top that the chiefs at Carrington are considering the Portuguese head coach’s position.
We saw how Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS publicly backed Amorim, but the fact that the stakeholders are considering options behind the scenes shows how the patience is running thin at the helm at Old Trafford.
There have been fans (and reportedly the decision-makers at the club) expressing concern about the tactical framework in place at the club. And how Ruben Amorim is not ready to change might end up affecting his place at the Premier League heavyweights.
Le Tissier pushing United towards Glasner

We have seen a few names pop up around as potential candidates who could be in line to take over the reins at Carrington. Among them the latest is former England boss Gareth Southgate, who is apparently liked by people at United. But former Southampton midfielder Le Tissier believes that the club should be looking to bring in someone who is more Premier League proven instead.
Gareth Southgate was quite high on the list when United were looking for a head coach last time around. But given that he was coming fresh from his long-term position with the England national team, he didn’t appear keen to take the job.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Football Insider, he indicated how United must move for someone who is already operating at the level United needs to be at. And he went on to name-drop Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner. He argued that he is a battle-tested candidate who understands Premier League football week in, week out. He said:
“I actually think the best choice for Manchester United manager at the moment, somebody with Premier League experience, one that won the FA Cup last season, and Palace fans won’t like to hear this, is Oliver Glasner.
“I think he would be a terrific choice for the next Manchester United manager.”
WAFU Opinion

As we saw in his time with the Three Lions, Southgate brings that sense of stability and comfort. But the question arises, do United only need stability or much more?
If United are to opt for someone like Glasner, he will give you more ambition and fight. And this club is at a place where they need to reignite this belief across the roster and the supporters. This gives Glasner a massive edge in our eyes.
