Manchester United have been keeping tabs on Benjamin Sesko
After a season that left us with more questions than answers, Manchester United fans are desperate for signs of real progress. Rúben Amorim has been brought in to rebuild from the rubble, to restore identity, purpose, and pride. At this point, names on a team sheet mean nothing. We need performance, a defined playing style, and, above all, goals. That’s why every transfer window feels like walking a tightrope.
We want to compete again, but we’re haunted by the mistakes of past windows. The arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have sparked some optimism, no doubt. But deep down, we all know something is still missing. We’re missing that clinical striker, the one who can finish everything the others build. And that’s where the name Benjamin Šeško begins to resonate louder with each passing day.
Sesko, the name that won’t go away
This isn’t new, Benjamin Sesko and Manchester United have been linked for years, even before his move to RB Leipzig. In fact, our current chief scout, Christopher Vivell, knows him better than most. He was the one who signed Sesko for Salzburg and later brought him to Germany. This summer, all signs initially pointed toward a move to Arsenal, but the Gunners shifted their focus to Viktor Gyokeres instead. Leipzig were left feeling confident they’d hold onto their rising star, but it feels like this story still has a few chapters left to be written.
A move that could change everything

According to Sky Sports News, Manchester United have not thrown in the towel for Sesko. Dharmesh Sheth stated that we must be vigilant, because something is quietly brewing. The player would be open to coming, even though we don’t play in European competition. Leipzig are not giving in easily, and they are demanding £78m. However, if players like Jadon Sancho or Antony leave, that money could appear. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford is leaving on loan to Barcelona, but we are not earning revenue from him this summer. Meanwhile, contacts have already been made this summer with the Slovenian, and everything could accelerate if more attacking players leave.
“Sky Sports News has been told one to keep an eye on as the window develops is RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.”
He is just 22 years old, tall, quick, strong, and steadily refining his technical skills. The Slovenian striker has already netted 39 goals in 87 appearances for Leipzig, showing that while there’s still room for growth, he’s already making a serious impact. He’s not just a poacher; Šeško gets involved in build-up play, attacks space intelligently, and brings movement that can stretch defences. His profile aligns perfectly with what Amorim needs, a more direct, dynamic presence to complement the likes of Cunha and Mbeumo.
We obviously rate Sesko highly, we’ve followed his rise and know what he brings. He offers that rare blend of raw power and composure in front of goal. If United manage to sign him, it would be a statement, a true coup. It would also mark a break from our frustrating habit of signing strikers well past their peak. But there’s one unavoidable caveat: the price tag. And that could be the biggest hurdle.
We spent over 130 million on Cunha and Mbeumo, and now Leipzig are asking 78 million for Sesko. That’s too much, especially without European income. If we can get it down to 65 million, then yes, it’s worth it, but if not, we have to think of alternatives. Ollie Watkins, for example, would not be a bad idea. We cannot repeat past mistakes. We can’t sign for the sake of signing, but if we do it right, Sesko can be the player who can bring us back. We deserve a striker with hunger, not just talent, and this guy, frankly, seems to have both.
