Manchester United want Valencia star Javi Guerra to replace veteran midfielders Christian Eriksen and Casemiro during the summer transfer window. The Red Devils will shift their focus from the attacking department to the midfield after signing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
United made an early move to sign two attacking players, Matheus Cunha and Mbeumo, who suit Ruben Amorim’s desired profile. With the inside forward positions covered, Amorim intends to bolster the midfield position to help Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.
United also have Mason Mount in their squad, but the Englishman’s reliability is at an all-time low due to injuries. Meanwhile, Eriksen will leave the club as a free agent, while uncertainty continues to surround Casemiro’s position at the club.

The Brazil captain has regressed rapidly since joining United from La Liga’s Real Madrid, inviting constant criticism about his place. According to Fichajes, United are ready to replace Eriksen and Casemiro with Valencia prodigy Guerra and strengthen their midfield department.
Amorim plays a 3-4-2-1 formation, with captain Bruno Fernandes having one position of the midfield secured as an indispensable playmaker. Guerra could provide a perfect blend of defensive and attacking prowess to Amorim as Fernandes’ partner and Mainoo’s midfield competition.
We All Follow United previously covered that Guerra has a buy-out clause of £87m, but he fits Amorim’s desired profile. However, the price will play a big role in the negotiations because United are not in a healthy financial position.
The Red Devils have already spent more than £130m to sign both Cunha and Mbeumo, limiting their capacity to spend. United are counting on selling their surplus players and raising the transfer funds while decreasing their currently inflated wage budget.
Rest assured, players like Guerra are hard to find, and the Red Devils cannot afford to miss such opportunities. The 22-year-old has the age, experience, physical prowess and technical capability to dominate the midfield in Europe for the next decade.
