AC Milan have entered the race to outsmart rivals Inter Milan and sign Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund this summer. Italian clubs aim to strengthen their attacking department, and Hojlund garnered attention in Serie A with Atalanta before joining United.
However, the 22-year-old has struggled to adjust to the pace and physicality of the Premier League, despite his immense potential. Last season, Hojlund competed with Joshua Zirkzee in a battle to secure the first-team spot as Man United’s main striker.
Both strikers failed to live up to the expectations of the club, while Man United plummeted in the Premier League. The Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League last season, well below their stature and ambition as a club.

United sacked Erik ten Hag, who signed Hojlund, for Ruben Amorim to change their fortune and rebuild the whole culture. However, Amorim has also struggled to implement his philosophy and tactical style within the team he inherited from Ten Hag.
The former Sporting CP boss enjoyed great success in the Liga Portugal while building his squad around poacher Viktor Gyokeres. The Portuguese boss wants to do the same thing at United, but it is clear that Hojlund is not ready.
We All Follow United recently covered that Man United have put a valuation of £34.5m on Hojlund amid Inter’s interest. According to an Italian publication, SportMediaset, Milan wants United star Hojlund and are working behind the scenes to outsmart Inter.
At this point, United need to make sales to sign players who suit the profile that Amorim’s tactical style demands. Despite the immense potential of Hojlund, it is mutually beneficial for him and United to part ways if a good offer comes.
Man United are focusing on quality over quantity next season due to the limited fixture schedule with no European competition. It is pointless to have players in the squad who will not feature under Amorim if he signs the players he desires.
