Manchester United have raised their transfer bid to sign Brentford attacking star Bryan Mbeumo to ward off Tottenham Hotspur’s interest. The Red Devils have outlined Mbeumo as their second signing of the summer after Matheus Cunha to bolster their attack.
However, the situation have dragged on since their initial bid for the Cameroon international as Spurs joined the transfer race. After losing the Europa League to their London rival last season, United cannot afford to let them win this battle.
As Ruben Amorim’s men failed to qualify for the next season’s European competitions, they have a golden chance to target quality over quantity during this summer transfer window. United have faced vulnerabilities in all positions, but attack remains their priority this summer under the former Sporting CP boss.

Meanwhile, Spurs appointed Thomas Frank as their new boss to replace Ange Postecoglou, who intends to reunite with Mbeumo. According to the BBC, United have made an improved bid of over £60m to beat Tottenham and sign Mbeumo.
The Red Devils made an early bid of £45m plus up to £10m in add-ons (£55m) for Mbeumo. Despite having only two years remaining in his contract with the Bees, the 25-year-old has played a pivotal part.
The Cameroonian attacker made 42 appearances in all competitions for Brentford last season, scoring 20 goals and providing nine assists.
Deploying Cunha and Mbeumo as the attacking duo behind the main striker under Amorim is an exciting prospect for fans. The two players have enjoyed a prolific season and have a strong Premier League experience, commanding respect with their contributions.

If United’s bid is accepted, signing both Mbeumo and Cunha will take the club’s expenses beyond £120m. However, the fans are hoping that there are more signings to come, particularly a number nine to complement the duo. After signing Mbeumo, United can also shift their focus to other departments that need recruitment this summer.
