United appointed Amorim after sacking Erik ten Hag during the middle of the current season, after a season’s terrible start. Amorim’s arrival failed to make a positive impact as the squad he inherited struggled under the new tactical playing style.
The former Sporting CP manager applied his preferred three-man defensive formation, but his strategy made things worse at the club. Nevertheless, the club is fully behind the Portuguese and intends to provide him full support in the upcoming transfer market.
United’s financial problems and battle with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules have restricted their ability to spend carelessly. To counter the situation, the Red Devils have to sell plenty of their senior squad players before they can buy.
According to The Mirror, Fernandes, Maguire, Diallo, and Dorgu remain “immune” to the fire sale that United have already planned. Diallo has emerged as an incredible talent from the United academy and is reliable as an attacker in high-pressure situations.
Meanwhile, Fernandes and Maguire are among the few players who have adjusted quickly to Amorim’s tactical demands at the club. Amorim signed Dorgu during the January transfer window as his first signing at the club to kick-start his long-term project.
Each of these four players have justified their place under Amorim for next season as they continue to play a crucial role in the ongoing Europa League campaign. United won the first leg of the Europa League semifinal 3-0 against Athletic Club last week.
