Villa might not be comfortable paying Manchester United star Marcus Rashford’s £350,000-a-week wages
Manchester United fans should be ready for some big changes in the upcoming summer transfer window. The club could see the futures of a lot of their players decided at the end of the season. Many of the underperforming players in the club and those who are not in Ruben Amorim’s plans might be on their way out of Old Trafford.
One such player will be Marcus Rashford. The English international fell out of favour under Amorim due to his performances and was loaned out to Aston Villa in the winter transfer window till the end of the season. Rashford has now suffered an injury that will sideline him till the end of the season, but he has shown his talent and got back his spark while playing for Villa this season.
Marcus Rashford might not be moving to Aston Villa permanently
Villa have an option to sign him permanently for £40 million at the end of the season. However, Football Insider has now reported that Villa signing him permanently at the end of the season depends on whether they qualify for the Champions League. Given their recent form, it is unlikely that they will qualify.
Moreover, Villa might not be comfortable paying his £350,000-a-week wages. So, Rashford will have to take a wage cut. However, if they don’t qualify for the Champions League, the English international might not be willing to move to Villa.
Talking about his stats, Rashford has scored six goals in 25 matches so far in the Premier League 2024/2025 season. Two of the six goals were scored at home, while he scored four goals in away games. Overall, Marcus Rashford’s goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.38. Moreover, the English international’s total G/A (goals + assists) is nine for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.57 per 90 minutes, and his non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.34.
