Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim confirms that young players will receive an opportunity against Brentford in the Premier League clash. The Red Devils will face Brentford on Sunday, after enjoying a limited gap since their Athletic Club victory on Thursday.
Amorim’s men delivered a fantastic performance and registered a convincing 0-3 away win against Athletic in the Europa League semifinals. However, Man United will face the Spanish club again in the second leg next Thursday, forcing Amorim to rotate players.
United have endured a terrible campaign in the Premier League, suffering 15 losses from 34 games so far this season. They are battling for some damage limitation in the Premier League at this point, focusing more on the Europa League.

The potential Europa League triumph would not only give them a silverware but also secure next season’s Champions League spot. The Champions League qualification could bolster Amorim’s plan to take Man United back to the top of the Premier League.
Speaking to ICS (via manutd.com), Amorim confirmed that young players could feature against Brentford in Sunday’s Premier League away clash. He said:
“Maybe some kids will have to play against Brentford. We have some problems in our squad. Some players are in the limit. We will try to manage everything and the best way is to prepare for all these things. We’ll see what we can do at the weekend. Chido cannot play against Athletic but, in the Premier League, yes, of course. They will have to play. We have some problems. We have some players, in this moment who can play one game, but the next one they cannot play. We don’t know what kind of starting XI we need for the second game [this week]. Everything is in my mind but they [the youngsters] will have to play.”
Harry Amass, Tyler Fredricson, Jaydan Kamason, Sekou Kone, Bendito Mantato and Chido Obi are the youngsters who could feature against Brentford in the Premier League away clash on Sunday. Brentford are currently 10 points ahead of the Red Devils and will pose a big test for the United youngsters.
The Red Devils have a prestigious academy, which played a critical role throughout their historical success. It is a smart strategy from Amorim to use the youngsters in the games that are no longer a priority.
